Reading to the future at Topa Topa Head Start! Our Executive Director, Lori Hamor was the “Celebrity Reader” at Topa Topa Head Start last Friday during the countywide Take 5 and Read to Kids event. Lori’s daughters were both beneficiaries of Ventura County First 5 programs all the way back in 2001! Ms. Hamor was also a member of the Ventura County First 5 Parent Advisory Council for a number of years representing the Ojai Valley. After reading books and talking with students about reading everyday, she was given a tour of their wonderful school garden with fruit trees and raised beds. It was beautiful! We are looking forward to welcoming these students into the Food for Thought Gardens across OUSD in the upcoming years. Thank you Topa Topa Head Start, First5Ventura and #Take5VC.
